​I was born in Cuba and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. My father was a medical technologist and worked closely with physicians. As a boy I was often around physicians, clinics, and hospitals. By the time I was five I knew that I wanted to be a doctor. After growing out of my “the next Johnny Bench” phase (the hall of fame catcher for the Cincinnati Reds), I pursued a BS in chemistry as I completed my pre-med studies at the University of Miami.
As I completed my clinical rotations at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, deciding on a specialty and career path was a challenge. I loved every field of medicine, so naturally I chose primary care (family medicine). Many years have passed since my residency, and I have witnessed many changes to the practice of medicine.

Over the years, my level of appreciation for colleagues in medicine has only grown. Let's admit it, running a private practice is not easy. I hear from physicians who are overwhelmed and fatigued, particularly given the many business complexities affecting healthcare. I want to help primary care physicians to make more money, reduce the stress of running a practice, and to enjoy taking care of their patients.
